Because the service concerns your dog, we also collect information about them, such as their name, breed, age, care requirements and information you choose to give us about their health, behaviour or temperament. Information about an animal is not normally personal data in itself, but it forms part of a record that identifies you as the owner.

We receive information directly from you when you complete the enquiry form on this website, email us, telephone us, attend a meet and greet, register for boarding or otherwise deal with us. We may also receive information through the booking system we use to run the business.

Why we use personal information and our lawful bases

Enquiries and pre contract steps. We use the information you give us to answer enquiries, arrange meet and greets and settling visits and assess whether boarding is suitable for your dog. The lawful basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Providing boarding and managing bookings. We use customer, dog and booking information to provide agreed boarding, manage dates and arrivals, care for your dog correctly and keep you updated during a stay. The lawful basis is performance of a contract.

Payments and financial records. We use relevant information to take or record payments and to maintain accounting and tax records. Depending on the activity, the lawful basis is performance of a contract or compliance with a legal obligation.

Licensing and record keeping. As a licensed boarding establishment we keep the records our licence requires, including vaccination evidence. The lawful basis is compliance with a legal obligation.

Customer service and business administration. We may use records to answer questions, deal with complaints, keep appropriate records and protect the business. Where this applies, the lawful basis is our legitimate interests in running the business responsibly.

Some of the suppliers we use to run the business and this website may process personal information outside the UK. Where this happens, we take the steps required by UK data protection law so that an appropriate safeguard or other lawful transfer mechanism is in place.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet legal, licensing, accounting, tax, insurance or dispute resolution requirements. Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept only while they may still be relevant, and are then deleted. Customer and dog records are kept for the period of the relationship and for a reasonable period afterwards. Financial records are kept for the period required by tax law.
